i havent heard of any progress with the Japanese translation, so this is a request for any volunteers.
I know there is a lot of interest for a Japanese version as there has been many hundreds of downloads of the google translation file. Any volunteers please contact me via PM or leave a message here.

I would like to do Japanese translation.
But, I don't have Windows development environment, such as Visual Studio.
Is it no problem?

PS. Personally, I don't need Japanese version of MB. Because English version is enough for me

Not at all. All you need is a text editor such as Notepad++ to edit translation source files listed above. You can edit MB *.lng files with it as well. It's even possible to use one of the existing lng files as a source for the translation (I used the Russian one as the source - thanks boroda

).

Nor do I, but I just tried to help with MB development and started the translation into Polish. I've translated the GUI (i.e. 30% of the translation file or so), but no one, except Steven, has ever asked me about it. Before starting the translation make sure someone take advantage of it.

i'm absolutely sure there will be a lot of interest in the japanese version as i've had thousands of downloads for the japanese google translation file linked to from japanese web sites, even if you dont see the interest here on this english forum

In *.lngc files, there are some binary codes. What are they?
And, please tell me what article should I read at first.

i would suggest you either start from scratch with the english text file or use the google translation file which has one line for the english and one line for the equivalent japanese. However the google translation is rubbish a lot of the time so it might be better just to use the english one.
Any line starting with ! is ignored by MusicBee. Once you have finished i can create a binary file but you MB can load the text file while you are testing it.

Now, I understand the differences between *.lng and *lngc files, and understand what should I do.
I am going to rewrite each line of the Google translated file.

I would like to announce MusicBee Japanese language file (RC2).
It can be downloaded from http://www29.atpages.jp/~butty/MB-translate/Japanese.lng

Usage:
1. Download the lang file.
2. Move it to "MusicBee\Localisation" folder.
3. Restart MB.
4. Go to Edit/Preferences, choose "Japanese" as language.
5. Press "Save", and restart MB again.
