Thanks psychoadept I will investigate this.

Although I didn't specify, I was hoping to avoid MusicBee specific solutions as I am transitioning to Linux.
I know people have run MusicBee in wine, but I am trying to use native Linux apps.  (I have Win7 in VirtualBox
for emergencies).  As everyone knows there is nothing close to MusicBee in Linux (or Windows for that matter).

Hello all,
I would appreciate any suggestions anyone has for the following.
I currently store the highest position a song charted at in the "Comments" field of FLACs and MP3s.  This has become problematic for several reasons
not the least of which is, this is a numeric value stored in a text field.

Has anyone solved a similar problem or have any suggestions for a better solution?

Questions / Re: Transfer musicbee files to Linux Mint

You might also check out http://www.ext2fsd.com.
This is a windows driver that allows you to mount the Mint Linux partition as a Windows drive letter.
I use it all the time.

As jackuars is spot on.  I also do exactly as he has stated.

My music collection is on D:\FLACs and stored as flac files.
I use MiniLyrics, primarily, to retrieve lyrics and save them in D:\Lyrics
I use the "minilyrics for musicbee" and "minilyrics helper" plugins.
MiniLyrics is configured to download lyrics to D:\Lyrics and NOT embed lyrics into the music files.
MB preferences in Tags (2), auto-tagging, nothing is checked.
All is fine with the flac collection.  Lyrics are more or less working as I expect.

The problem is when I use MB format converter to convert flacs to MP3s.  After the conversion the mp3 files contain embedded lyrics.
This is confirmed using the Tag Inspector.  The only way to avoid embedding lyrics into converted mp3s is to rename D:\Lyrics to
some other name. I assume this keeps MB from finding the lyrics and embedding them.

Is this strange behavior or am I doing something wrong?

Visualizers / Re: Old Sonique for MB
« on: June 11, 2015, 12:44:42 AM »
I just downloaded.  Thanks for the fantastic visualizers.

They all seem to work just fine, although I have to "un-tic" Show Visualizer then change to a new one.
If I just select a new visualizer without un-ticing Show Visualizer then nothing happens or the plugin crashes.

I am using MB ver 2.5.5575

MusicBee Wishlist / Re: Dual Monitor/Second Screen Theatre Mode/Visualizer
« on: November 30, 2014, 10:32:58 PM »
For me, I would like to see the "musicbee application itself still accessible in the main monitor".
For example, at a party I may use a large screen TV monitor for my guests to see the visualizer or theatre mode, but I do not necessarily want then to see all the MusicBee options or my music library.  Even though I have a playlist running someone my have a special request and currently I believe would have to switch back to the main musicbee app to "Queue Next" that song.  I do not necessarily want the musicbee app to display on the second monitor during that process.  Hence the request to have musicbee on the main monitor and visualizer or theatre mode dedicated to the second monitor.

OrB has a workaround for theatre mode see http://getmusicbee.com/forum/index.php?topic=14171.0

Questions / Re: Disc burner

Ma_t14, the disc player in my car will play MP3 CDs (physically it is a DVD).  So the format is available on more than just computers.  Also my home entertainment DVD will play MP3 DVDs.

Portable Devices / Re: 8GB Zen - Synchronization not working correctly

The patch also works correctly for me.  Only the songs that were changed/updated in MB were updated/sync'ed to my ZEN player.

None of the files on the ZEN have a date for Modified or Created.  Both fields are empty.
Does not matter if they are copied manually or sync'ed with MB.  This is when viewed with Windows Explorer.

I can confirm that in Windows Explorer the "Modified" date is empty/blank when viewing the media files on my ZEM.

I am following this thread with interest.  I also have an 8MB ZEN that exhibits exactly the same symptom.
Whenever I sync to my playlist it recopies all the files to the ZEN.
