Hi,

I really like MusicBee and use it for a longer time now.

I often use it as DJ on home parties - for that purpose I use my laptop, connect it to a big TV and start MusicBee.
The party people loves it when the TheaterMode shows information about the currently running song.

But: I didn't find a possibility to switch on TheaterMode on the TV (which is configured as second monitor) and keep the MusicBee main window running on my first (Laptop) screen.
When I switch on TheaterMode, it always opens it at the screen / montior, where the MusicBee main window is running.
And the main window gets unusable for that time.

Isn't it possible to switch on TheaterMode on one monitor without loosing accessibility to the main window on another monitor?

take a look at the specific Theatermode-xml-file you are using
the instructions should be in there - maybe its
<settings monitor="2" otherMonitors="active" />

No, that doesn't work - the theatermode still opens at the same monitor as the main player and replaces it.  :'(

For me this setting is for the screensaver, not the appearance of the theatermode itself
 - at least it is inside a section called "screensaver"  ;)

Other suggestions?

you are right - i cant manage it to work either in the way you want
i configured 'Screensaver' from the theatermode context menu now -
but my monitor(1) always 'blackout' regardless of the setting
the TM goes to monitor(2) but switch back if i touch a key
i would think  otherMonitors="active"  is not working properly /or as expected

(oops i'm on an old version MB2.4.5279)

Hi - i got it working now
i created 2 Toolbar Buttons: one for 'Theatermode - Show List', one for 'Activate Screen Saver'
start Theatermode via button
configure screensaver via context menu to monitor #2 (nothing else)
close Theatermode via menu
start Screensaver via button

sorry for confusion

Hi OrB,

good job - that works for me! ;D

It's a bit complicated (why is the monitor option only available in the screensaver and not in all fullscreen screens?) - but it works  ;)
Now I'm happy :D

You're welcome!  :)
you should do a regular wishlist request if you want a menu-item to be added
