It would be so great if I could use my android phone not only as a remote control for Musicbee (this can be already achieved by the third party software Musicbee Remote), but also to stream Musicbee's music on my phone within a given WLAN network.

I am often sitting in one room where I would like to listen to my music and MusicBee's wonderful Auto-DJ-playlists while my computer is in another.

This would improve my MusicBee experience even further.

By the way - I cannot thank you enough for providing me with this wonderful software. Such a powerful tool, such a wonderful way to experience my music in so many ways!! I am realy grateful.

You could try 'Subsonic client' plugin to steam audio over internet.

Thank you, Boroda, for your tip!

However, notwithstanding Subsonic being a great tool, it does not quite do what I would like to have.

What I would like to have would be using my android phone as a remote control for the MusicBee program on my computer - with the music being streamed to my android phone. I would like to use the full functionality of the MusicBee installed on my computer (especially the search functions for my library and the Auto-DJ) on my phone - with the music being streamed there.

What the Subsonic plugin does, however, - as far as I got it - is making your Subsonic drive visible in MusicBee. But that would only help my if I would be accessing my music with another computer, where I would install a second version Musicbee. But it does not help me on my phone.

Or did I get the functionality wrong?

Thank you very much for your tip again!

  • Long live OiNK!
You'd set subsonic up in MB then stream off the phone using a subsonic android app installed on the phone. I use the iOS version sometimes. You can also access it via a browser
