i've added a slight contrast to the visualiser when drawn on a picture and no black band is displayed. Additionally the higher bars are less transparent to make them a bit more solid.

The visualizer is astounding!  Unless I am missing something, this is a marked improvement.

I agree that it's a great improvement on the visualiser when used with the overlay

but IMHO, it still needs to have the brightness adjusted
brightness adjusted down 30%

@Bee-liever, i tried that but it only works for some pictures and is worse for others. One last thing i might try is making it more solid but with a sort of fizz effect (like the zune visualiser) when drawn on a picture

@ Steven, I've been playing around with the brightness value and came to pretty much the same conclusion. The 30% reduction works great with lighter backgrounds but really sux on darker ones, and the majority of artist pics seem to have darker backgrounds.
I still think about a 10% drop in brightness value works across the full range of backgrounds in reducing the "sherbert lolly" look of the visualiser colours, but I will be content with how it is now if the "fizz effect" doesn't work out.

The change for the visualiser is a big improvment, thanks for looking into it.

I can see a lot of great improvements here.  :)

Congratulations and thank you for all who contribute to make Modern Compact Player one of the best and original features of Music Bee. When taking into consideration the initial idea and the current development state, the progress is absolutely huge!

a couple of bugs fixed
i dont think the visualiser effect i had in mind will work on pictures so i have made only really minor tweaks to the colours
@kisscool, this might address the fade in transition for you

this is the last update i am planning for the compact player in this MB version

i've added new elements to adjust the colours on the new compact player
http://getmusicbee.com/forum/index.php?topic=2499.msg58709#new

also fixes a bug when changing configurations using a non-skinned window border, and the right panel scroll bar has been tweaked for when the right panel is not displayed on an artist picture
