Maybe have it show no lyrics briefly?

Maybe adding a medium album cover size to the existing "small" and "larger" settings would be not that bad.

+1
I say this because I realize that many of us use this as more than a small compact player.  On that note, I still  would like to see an option to make this window bigger by clicking something as opposed to  stretching manually.

This has made the text shadowing optional - you will need to enable it to get the shadowing effect.
When overlayed on the artist picture, the lyrics dont display any status info ie. they only display if there are any lyrics

not directly related but synchronised lyrics has smoother scrolling. If you do find any problems with it the version from a couple of posts ago doesnt have this new functionality (I have tested it and it should be ok).

I will probably do the medium size album cover

I was thinking that the playbar could still be thinner as in the image below. (I mentioned this a while back)
I also have other thoughts, but I have to think that it is getting close to the point where Steven as well as others are ready to step back and have a panoramic view of this thing, so will hold off.

This has come a tremendous distance from the first few pages of this project.   Thank you Steven.

Neither this version nor the new beta (from a couple of messages down) seem to have the problem.  Whether it was what you changed or maybe I had some strange combination of programs open previously, its not happening now.  Thanks Steven.

Also very much appreciate now having the option to turn off the text shadowing, thanks for that also.

With the latest beta I  had this problem with the now playing list overlaid.

Part of the of the image was getting misplaced.  However, have switched back and forth on what the overlay panel displays (lyrics or bio) seems to have fixed this when I set it back to now playing list again.

The scrollbar also does not always draw.

On another note, I am experiencing a slight problem with the transitions.  If MB (in compact mode) is in the background, it jumps to the foreground as the picture transition takes place.  Only for the length of the transition, it then reverts to being a background application.

just installed the latest patch and im having this problem now.

Nothing special. I saw your post and after opening MusicBee in compact player view I noticed the same as well. After maximizing and moving back to compact it's gone

its a strange one. i installed the latest beta thread and then re installed the latest patch to see if it would happen again but it didn't. tried playing the same tracks i was playing when it happened and no repeat of the bug so i dont know.

just so we are all on the same understanding - you mean you have another application running that partially or fully obscures the compact player and when the transition happens you see the fade effect in the other application?

i had chrome full screen and the compact player running in the backround. when the picture transition happens the compact player fades through chrome the fades back away again to the backround. its not there for long, just for the picture transition.

That was exactly the same for me (it was chrome also). Cannot get the problem to recur though.
