Two observations:

With the Ebony & Ivory skin the border appears yellow, while I'm pretty sure there is no yellow in this blackish and whitish skin.
The displayed photo is also b&w, so I wonder?

With the Jistme the Bee skin the outer wavebar color disappears with the background:

That's because you used the same color for fg2 of Player.Wavebar as player background. And this:

i have added "Player.Wavebar.Inner" to override the colour of the inner part of the wavebar where you set fg and fg2 like the "Player.Wavebar" element.

thanks for the new patch. what are the chances of getting support for milkdrop in the compact player?

Yes, but those were deliberate choices for how I want to have the player background and the wavebar displayed in the main panel.
It would not be very desirable to have to check existing skins for such problems, and try to find compromises so it would look o.k. for both situations.
Maybe this will require new separate skinning elements?

I'd welcome that too. Currently I am trying to adjust bg value of wavebar for main player, but it's not always working. If I can add one more request, I'd like to color player background and track info with different colors for classic compact player.

I'd still like to see the spectrum visualizer take the skin's color settings if "change panel color" is unchecked.

Also, perhaps making the minimum artist photo dimensions configurable would be helpful to some?

I may be a bit OT, but this nice video (of an upcoming iPhone tweak) shows quite a nice layout!

It's a fine video, but yeah, not sure what it has to do with the compact player.  It's a phone player, which is a different animal.

Actually one thing I do like in that is having a tracklist laid over artwork. That could be a nice option for the compact player - to have a transparent track listing permanently open and use the artist pictures as a backdrop.

1. As being accustomed to dragging the window from any part of artist picture in extended mode, I am frequently finding myself dragging the window in other modes too and find it cumbersome to have to click on top bar. Would you make it working in other modes too?

2. I think a little more transparency would be nice with auto-open panels in extended mode. What do you guys think?

What is nice too is that all font colors are automatically themed to match the background art.

Just to show it would be welcomed if this panel could be adjusted through skinning.

In this example the grey's are just not fitting with the rest of the skin:

for the skinning requests, that is one of the last things i will do

is there any interest in a layout like the following? It shades according to the skin colour (could be changed to the dominant picture colour but that doesnt work well in some cases). There are a few things to work out and limitations with it (lyrics and bio need to be auto-hidden, small album cover only - also i might widen the rows and make the font larger for the now playing list), so i dont want to spend more time on it unless people are interested. Also it looks ok most of the time but other times not so good

Looks great!
Just a couple of questions to clarify:
1. Will this layout option available for extended mode (no top bar) too?
2. So the user can show lyrics or bio like that as well instead of now playing list, right?

So I understand we would, if this is implemented, have three options for right sidebar layout: "always show," "auto-hidden," and "overlaid," of course except for "closed."
