for v2.2 i can only associate a dialog window to a help page, so wont be able to do anything with the auto-dj panel for example
I will have a look at these tomorrow and update the mappings where i can

there is almost no point to having a controlled help browser any more. I might just change it to open the landing page in the user's default browser

I think that's a good call.  It works great for me.  Testing dialog help links now.

p.s. Nice work, redwing!

FYI, Wikia is making some kind of change on December 4 that may affect how pages display.  If there are any problems on our wiki, let me know and I'll look into fixing them.

Just a suggestion. How about incorporating the wiki homepage and online help landing page?
The thing is that mouseover menu on the homepage is not as helpful as it should be for finding out items many visitors would likely be looking for. Have to look around each menu item for a while.  Also those menus are not available when you access from a mobile device. If the wiki homepage has the current menu on online help landing page (plus some more most visited pages), that'd be very helpful.

I think my original reason for making the landing page separate had to do with the fact that it opened within MusicBee, both for space reasons and because it allowed linking users directly to the content, skipping all the wikia advertising crap.  Since that's no longer an issue, sure.  Why don't you tackle porting over the content?    The main page layout is a little different from other pages, but there are helpful comments in the code to guide you.

That makes sense. I didn't think about the ads.

Since I had to update them for the new theme, I went ahead and finished a project I started a while ago of putting navigation tools on most of the wiki pages.  They overlap a lot with the menus at the top, but are placed at the bottom of the page to save scrolling and focus on pages related to the current page.  Additionally, they automatically include the page in the relevant category.

There are navigation categories for:
Preferences
Layout
Library Management (a miscellaneous category for navigation and organization tools)
File Management (a subcategory of library management)
Tag Management (ditto)
[Added] Playback
[Added] Menus

See Tag Preferences for an example:

Feedback welcome!

Glad you like it.  :)

I've been fine-tuning the top menu, too, including some new tricks I've learned from Wikia.  Considering turning the Plugins and How-To's menus into dynamic lists based on popularity, but I don't yet trust that it's working as intended on Wikia's end...

Edit: Okay, I think I've figured it out.  What do you all think of the idea of a dynamic list rather than the current static list?  It would be the top 7 articles, plus I could manually add up to 3 items to each list.

+1. Please leave "All items" menu entry as is.

I've made the change.  Give it 24 hours for everything to get sorted out.  I shortened some of the page names for readability, but that's not reflected yet.  Nevermind, looks like Wikia has it sorted out now.

Okay, I think I have the main menus pretty much covered.   These pages aren't meant to document much directly, just provide relevant links.  Let me know if I missed any problems.  Thanks!

You can find them all linked from this page: http://musicbee.wikia.com/wiki/Program_Menus

I always thought how-to section on the wiki is a mess. Not easy to browse available items and guess what each item is about.

Here are my suggestions.

- "All how-to" page should list sub-categories and items of each category to give a glance of all available guides. Current grid view and alphabetical order of list view are useless.
- Some guides already assigned to sub-categories are not tagged as "guides". Should be consistent.
- Nobody knows what AT&RT means. Better to be assigned to "Tagging" category along with other tagging guides regardless of the plugin use.

This sounds like a great idea.  You have the ability to add and remove categories, so why don't you go for it?
