This is a close to last resort on a long list of things I have tried. Windows 11 Pro - all updated

Problem:
I am listening to music on MusicBee, and it skips, stutters, jumps to the next track, and then the next track. stops. Then maybe a YouTube video will play in an open window that was not being accessed. I don't even have to be working on the laptop for this to happen- ghost in the machine?

- I have uninstalled/reinstalled all audio drivers.
- I have moved the SSD music library to another USB port.
- I have done all the 'setting adjustments' for sleep of USB drivers and checked SFC and DSIM
- A dozen more things, including installing and reinstalling MusicBee and even my antivirus software.
- Event Viewer does not show anything, although I have gone down every possible rabbit hole...
- Uninstalled any/all unnecessary software (Asus suite in particular)

Finally, I removed the SSD Hard drive with the music library from my USB Hub (Belkin) and plugged it into my Laptop directly. I am still having issues. It plays for a while fine, then acts up. It could be 5 minutes, or it could be 30 minutes.

NOTE: I have now been playing music through iTunes with NO ISSUES. So the issue is MusicBee?

It kinda acts/seems like a memory issue as the music is buffering/running out/overflowing with data? (I have run memory tests on my laptop also- all clean. and I have plenty of memory)

Maybe there is someone out there with an idea???

Thank you if you do. How to upload the error log file?.

I am doing my best, but I am better with help!

- What is the exact MusicBee version/installation you are using?
- Do you have any plugins installed?
- You have been using MusicBee for a while. Any idea when these issues started? Did other things change around that time?

Thanks for the reply.

Vwersion: 3.6.9202

No plug-ins installed for MusicBee. I do use Boom3D, but it seems to not be the issue as iTunes is OK.

I completely reinstalled my OS a month ago and reinstalled everything fresh. Somewhere in the middle of all of this, the issues popped up. That is when I went to try and uninstall non-essential items. Things seemed to work for a while, usually, but then the issue would come back. I thought it was the Belkin dock software, but that is completely removed. I thought it was the Asus system software, but that has been removed. I thought it was the Realtek audio software, but that has been removed. I thought it might be the antivirus software- that has been reinstalled (Bitdefender).

Frustrated...

I was wrong... iTunes is now doing the same thing. It just skips to the next track, maybe skips back to the beginning of the song, then skips again to the next song...

Just when I thought I had the root of the problem...

This must have something to do with installed (or removed) features or drivers.
When you look at Windows' 'Device Manager', are there any devices that have things like exclamation mark icons?
Have you tried removing all audio-related drivers and devices from there, restart Windows, and let Windows auto-install them?
(obviously, following any advice given is at your own risk…)

How good is the support page for (downloads for) your Asus device?
Does it seem complete and up-to-date?
(if you want to disclose, can you share the exact model?)

You are using either Store, Installer, or Portable.
And they are all free, so I don't understand 'bought'.
