Have recently opted to 'digitise' some old, inherited records - instead of opting to buy an LP player. The nostalgia and seeing music tangibly is a great feeling, but after a while, the practicalities of a 'listening session' become a bit of an overhead.

MB brings to life your media collection so well, the app is truly excellent! And this website perfectly articulates my desired use case: The Soul of the Vinyl, without the Turntable.

One of the classic tricks for breathing life into digitally recorded material is to incorporate the crackles and hisses from old vinyl recordings. You can use our Dust and Scratches generator to add a new "old" dimension to your digital music. When properly set up, these noises will interfere with your songs less than you might expect. Instead, they will increase the perceived sound quality of your poor recordings by adding frequencies and transients that are missing.

For those that can appreciate/relate, I'd recommend playing some of your old music and using that website (set the levels so the noise generator becomes just audible in the quietest passages of your songs) to 'feel' the effect of the music :)

I've had a look around the forum/plugins areas; my desire is to initially ask if such a capability exists or if there'd be potential scope for development?

I'd love if there'd be a capability to 'activate' such a plugin on-demand and adjust the needle, dust, scratch and hiss sounds, or, if possible, have presets (try them out on the website) e.g. Vinylizer • Gramophone • 78 RPM • LP • Second Hand • Scratched! • Scratches • Monophonic • Stereophonic • Hissy • Dusty • End of Groove •
