Hi
I edited a filter and suddenly I have 2 of everything - just for this specific filter.

What is the best way to clean this up?

Many thanks

Post a screenshot of the filter config.
Download the latest MusicBee v3.6 patch from here.
Unzip into your MusicBee directory and overwrite existing files.

My music is in 2 formats.
FLAC and AAC
I only want the FLAC copies in my library.
I accidently changed the filter to include both FLAC and AAC
So now I have both
I want to delete the AAC
If that's not possible, clear all music in this particular filter and then reload?

Edit the filter to remove the format you don't want.
Or
Delete the filter and create a new one.
Download the latest MusicBee v3.6 patch from here.
Unzip into your MusicBee directory and overwrite existing files.

Hi

Thanks for your help.
Unfortunately, it didn't work.
I deleted the filter.
Closed Musicbee
Reopened
Created new filter
Duplicates for all albums in that Genre

Thoughts?

Post a screenshot of the filter config.

You were talking format before and now you're taking genre.
If you deleted the filter and created a new one you didn't set up the criteria correctly.

You've been working with this filter since your post in 2020. Has it worked up until you edited it today?

Again - post a screenshot of the filter config.
Download the latest MusicBee v3.6 patch from here.
Unzip into your MusicBee directory and overwrite existing files.

Ethan, as phred has pointed out a few times, please share a screenshot of your filter criteria because that's where the issue lies.
We need to see exactly what your criteria says before advising why you are seeing "duplicates" of formats or genres.

I've asked twice and Mayibongwe has asked once. If you're not going to post a screenshot, then I'm not going to waste my time trying to help you. And neither will anyone else.
Download the latest MusicBee v3.6 patch from here.
Unzip into your MusicBee directory and overwrite existing files.

Apologies - for the delay.

Thanks for the above - I've corrected your image link to point directly to the image source.
You can quote this post of mine in order to see the difference between the link you had and the one I have.

Back on topic:

My music is in 2 formats. FLAC and AAC
I only want the FLAC copies in my library.

I accidently changed the filter to include both FLAC and AAC.
So now I have both. I want to delete the AAC

Oops, I have just realized that you had already attempted embedding the image link but hadn't done it correctly as well (hence why it wasn't showing).
Sorry for assuming you were intentionally ignoring the request to provide the screenshot.

Regarding the above in red, are you saying that you clicked the minus ( - ) button next to the AAC filter and it didn't remove those results?

Again, apologies for not getting back to you sooner.
I am in Jerusalem GMT+2 -  so if you're on the East Coast, it's +7 hours

Here is the the original filter after deleting the previous and recreating it.
You can see from the image that the Duplicates are still here

Here is the image you attempted to embed - you need to ensure that the link includes the file extension (i.e. .jpg or .png):

We can see from this that there is no issue with your filter.
Next to one of each of the tracks displayed there is an exclamation mark - if you hover you mouse over that it will display a pop-up message, presumably telling you that the file is missing.
My guess is that you have moved these files (or renamed a folder) outside of MusicBee and duplicate entries have been created in the MB database when re-adding or re-scanning.

My suggestion is to rescan all files (Tools > Advanced > Rescan All Files). Give it a minute to complete and it should populate a list of all missing files and will allow you to delete these entries from the library (look through the list to make sure you are happy to do so first).
