Since the graphic design of all new apps, OS and web services has adopted round corners it makes Mb looks a little outdated. So a little face lift would bee cool.

Why do you think MB needs to look like other apps?

As for rounded corners, I realize it's a personal preference, but none of my CD covers, nor my vinyl album covers, nor my 45 RPM sleeves are round. As far as I can recall, only a few album were produced with round covers and then the owners of record stores (remember them) said they couldn't display them in the racks/bins where the "regular" albums were.

TL;DR -1

This topic seems to follow closely with another recent one regarding rounded album artwork.
https://getmusicbee.com/forum/index.php?topic=42221.msg230829#msg230829

Both are simply appearance preferences for the most part, as the vast majority of physical media are fully square. Or at least they have squared corners. Further, to the best of my knowledge all monitors have squared corners as well.

What would be the purpose of intentionally reducing the visual appearance of the artwork or the MusicBee program? Most users strive to include the most accurate representation of their album information including the metadata details and of course the artwork.

This. So much this.

Didn't really think this needed pointing out.

While it's fine as an option for some, it's not something I'll want to see or use.

To not feel outdated. And I did not mean only artwork corners but also menus, windows and panel borders etc.

There are 11 pages of skins/themes here, many with rounded corners, menus, etc.: https://getmusicbee.com/addons/s/?type=1 .

This doesn't even count the ones user-posted in the skins forum, or elsewhere on the Internet.  Anyone wanting a "facelift" has this at their fingertips.  My recommendation though is they have a fast & easy backup system in place (called "Portable" mode) so they can try as many as they want always with the knowledge that if something gets screwed up or they hate it, reverting to their existing install is just a 2-click process.

Skins don't do what I was asking for. There is a shift in web and app design.

There is a shift in web and app design.
And because of this MB has to adhere to the latest fad? Like following lemmings to the sea?

As sveakul said, given the number of skins available, plus theatre mode along with the numerous options for panel payout, there are plenty of ways to make MB look different. Personally I'd rather see Steven not spend time on aesthetics. While I'm perfectly happen with MB as it is today, taking a quick look at the Wishlist section, perhaps Steven could consider adding more back-end enhancements.

EDIT: Typo

I am glad MB is the way it is now. Those so called new designs (which are mostly a rehash from designs from the past) do not bring anything useful to MB. If I want another look i use a theme/skin I like, if not the standard look is fine.

I somehow never had this feeling like "OMG" i am not going to listen to music any more because that look is really outdated. But that might just be me.

Just because the new trend is to round the corners of things doesn't make it good. Personally I think rounded corners on everything sucks. I particular dislike the trend (especially in mobile apps) of minimalising the design to the point it's not intuitive anymore.

Nearly every website revamp I've seen over the last few years that added rounded corners to everything looks crap. It feels like they are designed for children.

Wow, I'm surprised this is such a contentious topic. I don't see any reason to object to someone wanting rounded corners, but I think you can get most of the way there with skins and the new rounded corners plug-in, which is a great idea.

If there are specific things not covered by that, it might be better as a request for skinning support than a whole MusicBee update.
