Reporting a problem that I feel is related to the VUMeter plugin, but the error message doesn't give its developer a clue about what may be going on here.
So I am posting it here.
Link to the original report and brief discussion on it:

This error message pops up when clicking Help > About

The error is saying is windows is not able to create a valid graphics object for the screen but doesnt provide any clues as to what is causing the corruption

Hiccup hasn't been on for a week. I'm putting this one down to his hardware was probably dying and now it's died properly and he's waiting for parts.

Don't assume too quickly.
Maybe he is on holiday in the sun.
Maybe he is running a booth on a Christmas market and is half frozen.
Maybe he is climbing an underrated summit in the Anapurna and is completely frozen.
Maybe he is visiting a very close relative in Burgundy (a third cousin once removed) who teaches him how to make wine.
Maybe he has been abducted by visitors from Zeta Reticuli who won't release him until he has taught them how to make cheese. Hollandse kaas. De echte.

Sorry for this late response.
I have not experienced any hard- or (other) software issues, and my system is well-maintained and is running rock-solid.
I have taken a break from using, and testing the VUMeter plugin.
Perhaps I will pick it up in a couple of months again.

update:
The reported issue is not showing anymore.
I have no clue what may have been causing it.
Anyway, case closed for as far as I am concerned.

You guessed right. (I'm not impressed since that was clearly the most obvious explanation)
And I am happy to say that no anal probes were involved.
Nor did I disclose the secret ingredient. (koeien)
