Hello,

I've started to notice gaps appearing in the wave bar recently. Here is a screenshot of how it looks like:

The place where they appear changes if I rewind and play again.

I'm about 90% sure that this started happening after I updated windows 11 to version 24H2

Anyone else noticing something like this? (I'm on MB 3.6.9065)

Identical to what's reported here? https://getmusicbee.com/forum/index.php?topic=41912.0
Steven could not reproduce the issue at the time, so it remains unsolved.
Testing it on my side, I cannot see those gaps pointed out either. I'm using the same windows version as you and 3.6.9083P for MusicBee.

That looks quite similar. Thank you for mentioning that bug report which I hadn't seen.

I'll look if I can reproduce some of the behaviors described there.

in your case does it happen from simply playing the track without jumping the position?
If you drag the wavebar part of the window off screen and back on screen are the gaps corrected?

It seems so.
It happened to me right now. A song that I let play without skipping and towards the 3/4th of the wave bar, gaps started appearing.

Yes.
The gaps that were there disappear.
(also works if I minimize/restore the window)

I believe this is the same issue that I have.

In my case the first 25%-ish of the waveform is always fine, then the gaps start appearing until the end of the file. Skipping or adjusting column sizes / resizing window can force it to fully redraw correctly then the issue then immediately re-appears.

This happens regardless of the length of the actual file. Its less noticable the shorter it gets.

There is a sweetspot around 10mins in length where it almost erases the waveform.

Changing scaling in Windows does not appear to affect it and I have tried 100, 150 (usual) and 200% scaling. It happens regardless of where I put the wave bar, its height or if its 1 or 2 waveforms.

i still cant reproduce any issues (I am on the latest windows 11 as well), however try this version to see if it makes any difference
https://getmusicbee.com/patches/MusicBee36_Patched.zip
unzip and replace the existing musicbee application files

Unfortunately the issue still appears with that latest patch.

I've also changed screen resolution down to 1920x1080, disabled ClearType, diabled various windows tweak apps (powertoys, windhawk, afterburner), clean installed the display driver and still occurs.

When trying a few things I noticed that the "big" wave bar is fine up to about 25% then glitches, but the "progress" wavebar is fine until about 50-60% then glitches.

I'll try some combinations of other machines and clean / copied installations of musicbee when I get a moment.

This does greatly improve the issue but changes it somewhat and does not fully clear it.

On the "big" wavebar:

The first 25% is fine as before.  From that point the black lines appear very briefly and then disappear/are re-filled a few pixels behind the playhead line but occasionally will leave a dark line as before.

Approaching the 50% point the re-filling completely stops (or I cannot see it) and the issue then remains (but maybe not as severe) until the end of the track.

On the "progress" wave bar:

The issue still appears after the ~75% point but is re-filled behind the playhead as above so when that gets to the end of the track the waveform isn't glitched. It might leave one line behind occasionally.

I had limited time to test this morning but will get a screen capture later.

try this
https://getmusicbee.com/patches/MusicBee36_Patched.zip

So far it seems fixed here
(I'm using the patch before you updated the link)

Edit: never mind I saw a gap again. Took quite a while for the issue to appear though.
I'm gonna try the updated patch now.

On most recent patch the issue has changed slightly again: The glitch now appears some pixels behind the playhead position, rather than exactly in line with it.

It doesn't start glitching until further in (now more 30-40% in rather than 25)

this is a debug version. You might or might not see a large number of entries in the error log when he glitches happen

if you do see errors (help/support/view error log), can you post one on this topic
