I am getting successful synchronization that shows music being copied, but no music is on the SD card. I see the music being encoded and then copied, but at the end of the process, there will be no music, only playlists copied to the card. What am I doing wrong?

Hi, you will need to provide more information such as:

- What format you are trying to convert to/from (I assume that's what the encoding process refers to)
- A screenshot of your sync settings (showing the on-the-fly conversion section)

Thanks for the response! I'm not trying to convert anything. I just want to load music on an SD card, then put the card in my Hidizs player and play them. I used to always get synchronization failures, but I recently switched computers and thought to try again. Now I get successful synchronization - with both playlists and songs, but after synchronization, there are still no files on the SD card, even though I saw the folders being created and the songs being copied in by MB.
. I thank you for your assistance, Mayibongwe.

Are you using MB to -sync- to the card? In other words are you using MB's synchronize function?
Or are you using MB to copy (via Send To or by dragging) to the card?

I have used both synchronization and the Sent To function and they both have the same effect. It goes through all the motions of synchronization, even copies the music to the card (I've watched it happen), but then the card has not music and the message is successful synchronization.

Two more things to try. I assume your card is mounted in a card reader on your PC, correct? Does Windows assign a drive letter to the card?

Open up the Navigator in the left sidebar and scroll down until you see "Computer." Expand it and look for the drive letter. Then go to the tracks you want to copy, select them and drag them to the card in the Navigator.

If that doesn't work, go to Preferences > Devices. Click on Add Virtual Device in the upper right of the window. Create a new folder where ever you want and click OK. You should be returned to the Devices window. Wait a bit and the virtual device you just created will appear in the list. Now select your files and sync to that "device." Or "send to" that device. Once the files are copied to the device, close MB and open up a file explorer and navigate to where you set up the virtual device. And then copy those files to your card. Yes, it adds an extra step or two, but if it solves your problem it's worth it.

I successfully copied 255, and am now attempting 1,000 files. Thanks so much for your help. I've heard of Malibongwe, but now I know Mayibongwe as well. Thanks again!

It would be helpful for others to know exactly what method you used since more than one method was presented to you.

I used the copy method. I highlight the files I want to copy, right-click on the file area, select Send to, then Folder (Copy), and Copy Files to Folder. That was successful with 255 files.

I did run into an issue. 255 files transferred fine, but when I try to do 1,000 I get a synchronization failure with a message that there is not enough room on my E drive.  My E drive has almost 9 TB of free space, I don't know how there could not be enough room.

Thanks for that reminder. I am doing that now. Assuming that goes well, I will do that from now on. Extra steps are worth it. Again, thanks for your patience and help.

I am delighted with your help. It was simple, direct, and with no snark. I appreciate you.

You're quite welcome. We try to keep snark to a minimum here.

The real thanks to me should only come if what I suggested works for you.

I've heard of Malibongwe, but now I know Mayibongwe as well.
That's very nice to hear. Both names mean the same thing over here.
The slight difference depends on one's dialect.
Where in the world are you posting from, if uu don't mind my asking?

I'm slightly confused though regarding the issue at hand.

So the send to function which didn't work before now works? (I feel that you haven't stated what made it now work)

It appears that using a virtual device as the destination is working. But the OP still hasn't stated if they're using a sync or send to.

Hmm, you might be right about the virtual device having made the difference.

It's just that the below quote seems to imply that the virtual device route was only attempted after it was stated send-to (finally?) worked.

Thanks for that reminder. I am doing that now. Assuming that goes well, I will do that from now on.
"Assuming that goes well"...maybe I'm reading too much into it to a point where I'm confusing myself.

OP will clarify.
