When I try to download VUMeter with MediaFire, it redirects me elsewhere saying that the download link isn't safe. It hasn't done this before, but I wanted to bring it up in case it's a serious matter.

EDIT: Even after proceeding, the link doesn't seem to work.

EDIT 2: It works now.

Mediafire is just a simple solution for me. I don't get all the spammy crap because I have a piHole on the network and use ad blockers in my browser so I guess it's possibly unpleasant for some users?

I get zero income from the stuff I release here so in turn I'm going the free option. If there is a better free option available I'll consider it.

From what I can remember, the download issue ended up being that my ISP implemented some AI crap that misidentified the link as dangerous. But I let it go through and haven't had any issues since. The only thing I've noticed aside from that is the Vertical Display option seems to need MusicBee to restart to appear properly. But I'm not sure if that's intentional or a bug.

There is a graphical glitch/bug where sometimes the VU Meter window will be partially black. I could never figure out the cause. It's pretty much guaranteed to happen if you make the VU meter window larger than 50% of the screen in width.

You should be able to fix it without a restart by adjusting the size of the VU Meter window slightly.

Same as I reported before here, on a new install of MusicBee 3.6.9285P I am again experiencing heavy slow downs, rendering VUMeter unusable.

- loading a VU meter skin takes a long time
- the needle moves much delayed and in slow-motion
- MusicBee itself becomes laggy (e.g. dragging the whole MB panel goes shaky with some delay)

But this time I think I noticed something valuable.
It seems related to the size of a library.

The slow-down is happening on my main library containing some 5000+ albums.
When I open a small library of e.g. 3 albums the problem goes away and everything runs smooth.
Switching back to the large library, and the slow-down is immediately present again.

What is also interesting is that the CPU load varies a lot depending on the size of the library. (when using the plugin)

- no VU meter: approx. 0.1%
- with VU meter:
    small library: approx. 3%
large library: 10% and higher (it also saying: 'Power usage: Very high')

I know you are currently busy with other things, but I hope this will give you some valuable clue when you return and are able to take a look at this.
