Author Topic: Navigation tab behavior: "Music" doesn't refresh and can't remove Inbox  (Read 875 times)

Hi all - two questions:

1) If I'm viewing content inside a folder (bottom left) and then I click on the main "Music" navigation tab (upper left), nothing changes in the main view in the middle until I click on another navigation tab or playlist and then click back to "Music" - then it refreshes. All the other navigation tabs and playlists behave as I'd expect - you click on them from anywhere and the main panel refreshes to show the new view - it's just the "Music" tab that doesn't do this.

2) I've removed "Inbox" from Layout preferences but it's still there, even after restarting MusicBee:

Thank you in advance!

Hi gapsynaptic,

1) It seems that you are correct here and I would consider this a bug.
A workaround: Disable the Folder Browser (from the Arrange Panels Configuration window) and use the Computer node instead (this should automatically be displayed when the Folder Browser is disabled) - you can configure it to display a subset of folders in the same way, works in the same way and selecting the Music node from here seems to reset the main panel contents as expected.

2) The Inbox cannot be hidden unless it is empty. From your first screenshot I can see that you have 531 items in your Inbox - you will need to either delete these from your inbox or send them to your library.

Hi tjinc,

Thank you! The computer node workaround solves the problem - should I report the bug?

And thank you for explaining how the inbox works. I don't actually ever use that feature - I saw that it's part of the folder monitoring workflow so I just turned it off.

Glad you're sorted.

I have just posted a bug report for this so we'll see if Steven sees it as worth 'fixing' (what with the easy workaround).

Actually, if you don't use the inbox, what are the 531 items in there?

In Settings, I had it continuously monitor my main Music folder and to add files to inbox. Once in a while, I'll fix metadata for files that are already in the library and already in the main Music folder and then get MusicBee to re-organize them. Maybe MusicBee sees those re-organized files as "new"? I don't know - most of the files that were in the inbox were no longer in their original locations.

I have a single, separate folder where I place files to be added, and add them manually from there so I never use the inbox.
