Hi, can you please make the Track and Album Gain fields directly editable, like the rest of the displayed fields?

I very often have to tweak the automatic ReplayGain values to my liking or remove the existing ones, and that simple feature would simplify my workflow enormously. Since the tag always assumes a decibel value, the editable part can just be numerical (a two-decimal float), with the "dB" part added as a suffix on submit.

Thank you very much.

P.S. Just realized that the Filename field is also uneditable. While not a priority for me, it could be neat to make it editable, too, depending on the amount of work it would take. The sequence there would be to rename the file while simultaneously updating its new path in the database, with no extra steps like file rescanning required. Just some food for thought.

You can use the File Organizer for this: https://musicbee.fandom.com/wiki/File_Organization
Just ensure that the path remains unchanged.
The preview section of that window will allow you to make a side-by-side comparison of the old file path and the new one.

I know, and that's what I've been using so far. But even with shortcuts, it still takes at least 15-20 seconds to open the inspector, scroll down to manually find the necessary value on the list, edit it, close the thing, and get back to the next song on the list. Try manually editing it in this manner for several hundreds of files and you'll be looking at hours of unnecessary work, when you could just edit it from the main window the way you can with dates, names, ratings, and so on.

You can easily edit those and every other tag in Mp3tag:

https://www.mp3tag.de/en/index.html

And it's easy to set up a command shortcut in MusicBee to edit any selected files in Mp3tag.

Sometimes one tool isn't enough to do the job.
