My main auto-playlist dictates the minimum amount of time between plays based on star rating.  4.5-5 stars are eligible to be played again in two weeks, 4 stars in 2 months, 3.5 stars in 4 months, etc.

In other words:
Rating in range 4.5 to 5 AND Last Played not in the last 2w
Rating is 4 AND Last Played not in the last 2m
Rating is 3.5 AND Last Played not in the last 4m

...on down the list

I refreshed the auto-playlist today and noticed a song I had just heard in the list, which should not be possible. The minimum "down time" after a song is played is 2 weeks.  I then sorted the playlist by last played date, and noticed that every song I had listened to today was in the list.  Then there was a gap in last played time and the tracks that should have been in the playlist were there.

I closed and re-opened MB, and those tracks were gone from the list.  The playlist was as it should be with the most recently played tracks being 4.5-5 rated tracks last heard two weeks ago.

It seems that MB is not counting plays from the current session when looking at "Last Played Date" in auto-playlists.

Hmmm...after spending the morning trying and failing to make this happen again I'm guessing it was a temporary system issue on my end. Maybe a file was locked by Carbonite during backup or something. Sorry for the bother.

If mods feel it's best to delete the thread to prevent forum clutter and future confusion regarding this non-bug, I'm in favor of that.

Off-topic, but since I am guessing this thread is going to be deleted anyway ;-)
That product has a very good one-liner slogan:
"For when your laptop drinks your coffee before you do."
