How can I remove the link to the photo from all my images?
I only want to use the embedded images!

How can I get links to the photos from the database that are no longer valid?

I'm not in front of a computer at the moment to confirm, but between Tags (1) and Tags (2) in the preferences window, there should be artwork options.
If you disable all other retrieval filters except for embedded, and then hit "rescan", it should remove the linked/organized images.

Thank you for your quick reply.
I have already tried exactly that, but unfortunately the links still remain!

I'm using the latest patch version 3.6.

By "rescan", do you mean file rescan or the "Rescan Artwork" button at the bottom of the Artwork Retrieval Filter?  The latter is required, and be sure "Embedded" is at top of the list and checked.

I did it exactly the same way, but unfortunately it doesn't work!
Current version 3.6.8843

if the image is a manually linked image ie. doesnt follow any of the artwork linkage rules then MB wont remove the image on rescan artwork

The images were automatically linked according to a rule. But then I had to change my source path, so that there are now orphaned links that I would like to have removed or updated!

as they wont match the current path they will be treated as manually linked and not removed

If none of the other suggestions here work, you should be able to remove the dead links using Tools > Artwork > Album Artwork Manager but it will be one album at a time.
Right click on the 'dead' artwork and select 'Remove'.

i made a small tweak to the latest patch version that might help with "Rescan Artwork"

Thank you for this suggestion.
I have already tried this procedure. It would work, but unfortunately it would be very tedious as I would have to change more than 1200 albums!

I have now tried the following workaround:

Edit -> Edit Preferences -> Tags (1) -> Edit List ...

I selected all files
Context Menu -> Edit -> Artwork

Tools -> Advanced -> Rescan All Files

After that I only have the embedded images and the orphaned links are removed!
It works, but in my opinion it is not a really elegant solution!
