I noticed today that when I installed MB, it was placed in the following directory:
C:\Program Files\WindowsApps\50072StevenMayall.MusicBee_3.5.8447.0_x86__kcr266et74avj\win32

Did I download the incorrect version of MB?  Can I move the directory to C:\programfiles without causing conflict with playlists, settings, etc?

It's been advised by others here that when installing MusicBee to your C: Drive, to create a custom install location. (C: MusicBee Install) or any folder you wish to create.
Just don't install it within the C: Programs Files directory.
My MusicBee Version:
3.6.9285

You downloaded the Windows Store edition of MusicBee, which as far as many of us are concerned IS the incorrect version.  We say this because it ends up installed in a maze of Windows hierarchies (like all Windows Store apps) that make it impossible to apply patches to, or to manually get at some plugins and settings, or easily backup.  No it cannot be moved.  What you can still do is this:

1.  Completely uninstall the Store edition

2.  Download install the Portable edition, following the instructions here: https://getmusicbee.com/forum/index.php?topic=40059.0

'install it'?
You are completely missing/ignoring the fact that MusicBee has several ways of being installed.
The 'regular' install option doe not have the option to decide on where to install it.

There are three options:

1. 'regular install'
2. 'portable install'
3. 'Windows Store' install.

1: it's OK
2. it's preferred
3. don't, just don't

Obviously sveakul provided a good and useful answer.
