I want to define tags in musicbee that only displays in the Vorbis Comment,  for sorting.
As shown in fig 1. The tag "releasetype" can be album, single and compilation.
i try to use Custom and Virtual tag to define it but no field "releasetype", what should i do?

I'm confused, but it's probably because of some 'Lost in Translation'.

That sounds like you want to have MusicBee write a tag only to files that use Vorbis Comment (e.g. FLAC and OPUS), but not have it written to mp3, apple formats etc.?
Why? (I don't think it's possible either)

I can't make any sense out of that sentence.
Perhaps try again with different wording?
Or maybe somebody else understands what you mean by this.

Before I read too much into the post, my initial impression was that:

1. OP has a tag labelled <ReleaseType> in his music files.
2. He would like to access that tag in MusicBee's virtual tags for sorting/grouping purposes.
3. He's attempted to get said tag to be read by MB through the definition of a custom tag.

I imagine step 3 is where his stuff's out of order and he needs help correctly setting that up.

I think the specified file type/tag version has very little to do with what he wants to accomplish here - simply setting up the custom tag seems to be the goal.

To set up a custom tag to read 'RELEASETYPE' tag:

1. Define new custom tag (and save):

2. Set an unused custom tag to use the new RELEASETYPE tag (and save - all files will be rescanned):

3. <Release Type> field is now available to use as required (and data will be saved to RELEASETYPE tag when edited in MusicBee):

Sorry for not providing enough detail earlier. I have music files with a 'release type' tag in them. How can I make MB read it given the default "custom1,2,3...." doesn't include this tag?
Guidance @tjinc helped me

You got it.
Implementing the requirement mentioned in step 3 is indeed straightforward for MusicBee, and @tjinc has already informed me about it.
