Author Topic: Trying to close muscicbee but process stays open  (Read 264 times)

This was already posted and replied to a few times a couple of years ago, but I am having the exact same issue...

MUSICBEE WILL NOT CLOSE PROPERLY but stays open in task manager.  And, NO, I do not have any fancy playlists or anything like that.  Just playing a single album, afterward IT WILL NOT CLOSE PROPERLY and then I go to play another album and since the 1st instance is still running in task manager, it will not continue to play other album.  I absolutely HAVE to go into TM and close the original process.

What gives here people...?  

This should be a VERY simple fix by now years later, don't you think...?

Would be made a lot easier if you supplied even basic details about your setup.
You could be running MusicBee on a banana for all we know.

LOL, on a banana...  :D  That's funny, and yes you are quite right, sorry about that.  W10 Chrome set to Wasapi (exclusive)  That's it I think.  Sometimes when I close it I can then play another song/album and it will be fine, most times though it still has a running process in TM and will not allow another instance.

I've seen complaints about this posted here since like 2018.  Doesn't sound like anyone has ever made any progress on it.  Could be some weird interaction with a Windows update maybe?  I don't seem to recall it doing this until more recently...

Hi there!  Thanks for replying, I appreciate it!  Um...  I have the ini file, but I can't see how to create a link to it.  I tried uploading the file to my site and then simply linking to it, but it just came out as wall to wall text, not organized like you see it in the MusicBee interface.  Ah, I saved it as a txt file instead of an ini file and that does show properly when I link to my site.  Here it is...

There is nothing unusual i can see. I cant see the library settings, so if you have 'export to iTunes' enable or 'check for missing files on startup' ticked, try disabling both.
Apart from that i cant think of any explanation and have no further suggestions

I had a problem like this once and it came down to a plug-in.  Try disabling them all if Steven's suggestions don't cause a change and then reenabling them until you find the one that is causing it (if there is one).

Thank you both gentlemen!  I appreciate you getting back to me.  I have not set anything specific other than the exclusive Wasapi setting.  And, I haven't deliberately installed any plugins that I know of.  But, I will check into both.
