Hello,
I have another question, when in the view "Artist Information" the selection "Profile" is chosen, the information about the artist (for me) is in English. Surely this can be changed to German, however, I have not yet found the point.
Can someone help?
Thanks

Hello there,

Surely this can be changed to German, however, I have not yet found the point.
Sure it can, but it will require some manual labour.
The artist biographies are collected from last.fm if I'm not mistaken, and then stored in the following folder which you can then edit the contents of:
...\MusicBee\AppData\InternalCache\ArtistData

The information in the folders I found are all in English. How can I get the information from last.fm in German?

You wouldn't be able to unless you manually translated that text yourself and then resaved the files in that folder. MusicBee only fetches that info in English.

Not that it would change anything, but looking at the translations available for that website, I don't even seem to see German on that list.

You'll just have to go the manual way I'm afraid.

For example, if you call up the information of Peter Maffay, you get the information from the website in Musicbee: https://www.last.fm/music/Peter+Maffay
But there is also German information available at: https://www.last.fm/de/music/Peter+Maffay

Therefore I thought one could change the call of English on German?

Otherwise I would have to translate hundreds of pages.

I'm pretty sure that the artist bio should be in the localised language - this from a very old post:
i have added back in support for localised biographies:

http://musicbee.niblseed.com/V3_0/MusicBee3_Patched.zip
unzip into the folder MB is installed

it would only apply to new biographies

Whether this is still valid or is working or not I wouldn't know.
Scrolling down to the bottom of their website, LastFM has 12 different language options: English, German, Spanish, French, Italian, Japanese, Polish, Portuguese, Russian, Swedish, Turkish and Chinese.
It would be handy if someone from a non-English area would chip in to confirm what language they get their artist bios in.

Obviously, MusicBee will use the locally stored data if there is any so, if for some reason you already have English bio data downloaded, this would have to be deleted.

I had also deleted the files in the directory and on a new retrieval of the artist's biography they are back in English.

MusicBee ver 3.0 update 3 added back support for localised biographies (but that is a long time ago now so it may have changed).

If you are in Germany and retrieving biographies in English then I would say this is a bug - but it would be nice to hear from someone else having this issue before reporting as such (I can't test as English is correct for me).

Or maybe Steven might read this and comment - it may be that the LastFM API has changed and this no longer works, or this functionality was removed for some reason. I vaguely remember someone complaining that the biographies were in Portuguese ever since they moved to Brazil (and they wanted English).

Otherwise you may have to copy the German text into the bio.dat files and, yes, I know that might be a lot of work.
Sorry, I can't offer any more thoughts.

The number of queries does not increase if I call up the biography in German instead of English.

So that means that the biographies are only asked in English and no other language is supported?
