Not sure what discussions are welcome under this topic, but here's an observation of my own:
In the lyrics tab of the Tag Editor, the "unsynchronised" and "synchronised" sections have vanished. Would that be intentional?

nothing has been changed intentionally - its only split out for .mp3 files as has always been the case

Although there has been no official designation by Steven, I'd consider it beta at this point. I've been using it since October and have had no major issues with it. Steven does issue bug fixes / updates to it periodically so it is (somewhat) supported. I don't have any idea on a timeline for release.

You know the drill, psycho, download the portable and run it around the block for a while.
Download the latest MusicBee v3.6 patch from here.
Unzip into your MusicBee directory and overwrite existing files.

Yep, I've been running it for a few weeks at least. Just grabbed today's version.

I use MB portable patched May 13th. I would like to try the 3.6 portable version. Is it possible (and advisable) to share the library with both versions? Thanks for the replies.

I've been using both 3.5 P and 3.6 P for weeks without a glitch.
The two .EXE are stored in the same directory, with a suffix to distinguish them (MusicBee_3.5.exe).
They share the same configuration + library.

After all the patches and bug fixes, is there still any reason to use 3.5 instead of 3.6?

I use only the latest 3.6 version now, in Portable form.  I would encourage others to update.

BTW: How to update to MusicBee Portable 3.6, in the current absence of complete 3.6 install packages:

1.  If you aren't already using the Portable version of MB 3.5, get it and install using the instructions here:
https://getmusicbee.com/forum/index.php?topic=40059.0

2  Because of various file updates contained within (BASS libraries, etc.) that are not yet present in the 3.6 patch file referred to in step #3, download the latest 3.5 update patch at https://getmusicbee.com/patches/MusicBee35_Patched.zip and extract it into your Portable version's main folder, allowing it to overwrite any existing files of the same name.

3.  Now download the MusicBee 3.6 patch from https://getmusicbee.com/patches/MusicBee36_Patched.zip , and extract it into your Portable folder, allowing it to overwrite existing files of the same name.

4.  After completing step #3, you are now running the latest version of MusicBee 3.6 Portable.

P.S.  I added an edit to the main Portable instructions at the link in step #1, referring to this post.  If and when Steven posts official 3.6 Portable full downloads, both will be edited accordingly.

Thanks sveakul!

Your explanations on how to update and/or install updates, add-ons etc, are very much appreciated.

They are thorough and easy to follow and execute.
