I use only the latest 3.6 version now, in Portable form.  I would encourage others to update.

BTW: How to update to MusicBee Portable 3.6, in the current absence of complete 3.6 install packages:

1.  If you aren't already using the Portable version of MB 3.5, get it and install using the instructions here:
https://getmusicbee.com/forum/index.php?topic=40059.0

2  Because of various file updates contained within (BASS libraries, etc.) that are not yet present in the 3.6 patch file referred to in step #3, download the latest 3.5 update patch at https://getmusicbee.com/patches/MusicBee35_Patched.zip and extract it into your Portable version's main folder, allowing it to overwrite any existing files of the same name.

3.  Now download the MusicBee 3.6 patch from https://getmusicbee.com/patches/MusicBee36_Patched.zip , and extract it into your Portable folder, allowing it to overwrite existing files of the same name.

4.  After completing step #3, you are now running the latest version of MusicBee 3.6 Portable.

P.S.  I added an edit to the main Portable instructions at the link in step #1, referring to this post.  If and when Steven posts official 3.6 Portable full downloads, both will be edited accordingly.
Can I install -simply- this Portable 3.6 on top of two 3.5xx (non-Portable) installs? Thank you.

I notced following issue is reverted on the latest 3.6 version, `MusicBee.exe` file modified time is 2024/07/15 , previous file which modified time is  2024/05/13 works for this issue.
18. Disconnected the main and floating windows so they are independent

I noticed at least my request is fulfilled in https://getmusicbee.com/patches/MusicBee36_Patched.zip , thank you.
But don't you publish the progress of the beta version?

Even applied 3.5 patch as following:

No.  The instructions above apply to Portable versions only.

However, the 3.6 "patch" itself (MusicBee36_Patched.zip) is "neutral" and also can be used to update the Installer edition (why do you have TWO 3.5 "non-Portable" installs, I hope they aren't both on the same PC??).  Extract the patch contents into wherever/whatever the folder is that contains MusicBee.exe in the Installer version and allow it to overwrite.

The behavior of the floating window in 3.6 was reverted by Steven back to its traditional behavior in 3.5  This was due to the de-linked concept not operating as it should (window disappearing behind the main GUI at every mouse click, etc.). https://getmusicbee.com/forum/index.php?topic=41257.0

No, I have them on a Win 7 NUC and a Win 10 Surface Pro, with the Portable on the most recent Win 11 NUC install. With MB 3.6, I plan to move to all-Portables,

Just to be clear, applying the 3.6 patch to -any- prior Installer version, will not make it portable. You'll have to download and install the 3.5 or 3.6 Portable version from the downloads page of the website and -then- apply the latest 3.6 patch.
Download the latest MusicBee v3.6 patch from here.
Unzip into your MusicBee directory and overwrite existing files.

That's correct.  The next question some might have is, "Can I convert an existing Installer edition install into a Portable edition install?"  The answer is yes, but it is a royal PITA due to the divergence of file and folder locations between the two.

Believe me, you are far better advised to just completely uninstall the Installer edition and do a brand new Portable install.  However, those who enjoy a challenge can grab a big cup of coffee and take a look at the topic here: https://getmusicbee.com/forum/index.php?topic=36875.0 .  Get all that?

Because they operate separately, you could keep the Installer edition around to use as a visual guide to how you want to format the Portable MB, THEN uninstall it.  Keeping both around though on the same PC is BOUND to cause confusion somewhere down the line.  IMO, of course  ;D

Yes, thank you both. At some point, I will uninstall the 2 remaining great Installer versions and install great Portable ones.
