Latest version of MusicBee in Windows 11
I'm in the MUSIC tab.

Hi There

I have PJ Harvey selected in the left sidebar
In the main panel I see her tracks numbered 1 to 93 downwards
If I want to manually push track # 46 up a couple of slots to # 44 how do I do this?

Left click selecting track # 46 with my mouse pointer & trying to slide the track row up to the new position does nothing. I see a "1" appearing in a box next to the pointer & a tiny red "not allowed" type sign [circle with a diagonal line through it]

I used to be able to do this in MusicBee a few years ago, but I can't today
I used to rearrange tracks by mouse pointer & then renumber that artist to preserve the new ordering

Thank you

P.S. I note the Verification question requires me to put in a wrong answer, since spiders are not insects, they are arachnids.
Q. Which is  an insect: flower rat floor spider car:

i doubt that manually rearranging tracks in the main panel was ever possible. but you can do this in static playlist (and i suppose that you will be able to renumber tracks using playlist view after that).

Yes, I could do this just as described [in the Main Panel]
Boroda is (of course) correct that this is not possible, nor was ever possible, nor would make any sense to be able to do in the main panel using something like the the regular 'tracks' view.
You must have had some playlist panel, now playing, or upcoming tracks panel displaying 'somewhere in the middle' that you call 'the main panel'.

From this comment, I would think that you are already looking at a playlist - don't know where those numbers would come from otherwise.

If you could post a screen shot of your Musicbee window we can see where you are.

Going to below site shows how I've set up MusicBee [slightly non-standard]

ok, sorry I was wrong - that is not a playlist (those numbers appear to come from your <Disc-Track#> field).
In that case I can only reiterate what has already been said: You have never been able to drag files around in this view.
