When I have a bunch of tabs open, they eventually all default to the exact same album / playlist. This bug has been there multiple versions back, all the way to the current one of 3.5.

Thanks!

i dont think this has ever been reported before so its likely i would need some steps that reproduce the issue.
However if you send a link to your settings file i will have a quick look (help/ support/ view settings)

Okay I just changed all of the files to unrestricted. Now you can view them.

Thank you, Steven!

Are you saying that initially a tab is say "Podcasts" and simply restarting MusicBee it changes to "Music Explorer". Its not because you click on an artist or album in the track info panel?

If you are not using the store version, try this patch version
https://getmusicbee.com/patches/MusicBee35_Patched.zip
unzip and replace the existing musicbee application files

Yes, basically those tabs were all different artist tabs I had designated for each one, just like with other audio/music player software. The tab text titles always only say "Music Explorer", but they're different artists I had selected. Not long after, the bug makes them all globally become only one particular artist tab. In those screenshots it happened to be all of the tabs became the artist/band "The Freeze", which initially was only 1 open tab out of the 12. The tab named "Hard Rock mix" stayed the same, because it's a PLAYLIST tab I created, and not just a tab of a selected music explorer artist. The PLAYLISTS are the only tabs that remain the same and don't change from the bug.

I just replaced the old files with the patch version files you linked. MusicBee has had this bug going on through multiple software updates, going as far back as who knows when. So, I don't know how the bug could have been addressed and fixed, since this is the first time y'all have heard about it. I'll do the same experiment and wait to see if all my tabs become only one artist.

I'll let you know soon what happens.

Thanks, Steven!

so you already had those tabs open - the issue you are reporting is each tab is not remembering the last selected artist on restart?

Yes. I actually just put my PC to sleep each night, so I don't even close MusicBee. It usually stays open. The tabs become all the same after a short number of days, not even connected to a closing or restart of the program. The screenshots are the exact example of what happens. The tabs that are PLAYLISTS are fine, they stay the same and don't change.

The Music Explorer is designed to default to the current playing track.
However i agree that is not consistent with other panels, so i will change it in v3.6 to remember the selected artist
