Displayed fields not working in "Artists" view

In view configuration you can set what field to display inside or below the artwork

This setting only works in "Album covers" view and doesn't work in "Artists" view

yes thats correct - the fields only apply to the album covers view

it is working as designed - when you drill down to view the albums associated with the artist, the fields display

can I ask why? like why can't it be customizable so one can have the displayed fields at artist level rather than album level?

like what's the point of not having any way to add custom tags to artists, but it's possible to add custom tags once you move to album level. what difference does it make?
