It's something that I'm facing since, well forever, but i just can't stand it anymore.
Triggering inline tag editing (double clicking on a tag) or even trying to trigger the edit tag panel is slow, also it's almost impossible to write anything because of the huge input lag while typing in normal speed.

Input key processing is entirely done by windows and MB doesnt control that.
I suggest as a test install the portable version with no plugins installed and see if its still slow. If not, it might be a plugin interfering.
Otherwise the only other suggestion I have is to whitelist MB in any security software you use

I did some testing, portable, different installation, same installation with a smaller library, and it seems that the problem, once again, is due to the -huge- size of my library.

The AV doesn't affect Musicbee, as it's already whitelisted.

How large a library are you talking about? I've got over 40,000 (mp3) tracks and see no lag when using doing inline tag editing.
Download the latest MusicBee v3.5 or 3.6 patch from here.
Unzip into your MusicBee directory and overwrite existing files.

I dont see how the library size would affect typing response time

What version of MB are you using? (Help > About) INCLUDE THE LETTER (if any) AFTER THE NUMBER

2 million tracks is pushing the limits with MB.
You could try expanding the available memory used by MB:

Oh, yeah we've already talked about it in the past because i was receiving multiple errors, so i already do that after your suggestion.

A little update.

Smaller library, same installation, no input or any other lag.
