Hi,
Bee is randomly selecting an album track and listing it as a separate album, the files are all ripped from my hard copy media using Exact Audio Copy, all fields have been tagged using Mp3 tag, I don’t think this is an issue with either, Mp3 tag or EAC, I originally digitised the files in 2016 and they have shown no issue since then.
I have selected and re tagged the whole album several times today but the error persists. I have also re started Bee and rebooted the PC several times.
Any advice would be greatly appreciated.

what fields do you use to define an album in the Preferences/ Sorting panel and are the tags for each of the fields the same.
What sort order are you using in the display panel.
A screenshot is needed

Thanks Steve,
All track fields on the album are exact matches, other than the name of each track, my sort fields in MB are all stock, ie Album & Tracks/ascending, nothing extra regarding sort options.

FWIW, I've occasionally thought/SEEN I had exact matches, but... I have sometimes copied and pasted Artist and Album Artist fields from known-correct tracks to fix my inexact fields.

I so enjoy troubleshooting these mysteries. Good luck redirecting this rascal.

Thank you for your enthusiastic reply, Musica, it boosted me to remove all metadata and start again, unfortunately the album is still showing tracks 1 to 5, track 6 is now its own album and the listing then reverts to normal and displays track 7, curious behaviour me thinks.

I agree with Steven, a screenshot could be helpful. Also, did you respond to his question about Sorting/Grouping preferences?

Might track 6 be a different artist from the others in the album?
Do you have the <album artist> tag filled in?
If <album artist> is empty, MB treats the album artist as if it were the artist. This would result in showing the "different" track as its own album. If this is the case, try adding something like Various Artists to the <album artist> tag for all the tracks in the album.

i can see a possible bug in MB but i think it would be quite rare. So can you try this version if you are not using the windows store version
https://getmusicbee.com/patches/MusicBee34_Patched.zip
unzip and replace the existing musicbee application files
or if already using v3.5

I've found the easiest way to find inconsistent data for album tracks is to highlight all the tracks on the album, right click and select edit. Any fields that have inconsistent data will have "mixed" in the field. From here you can just set that field to whatever it needs to be and click ok, it will apply that value to all the selected songs.

Some of the trickier ones I have found are where the field data has a space at the end. They look the same but one is "Artist" and the other is "Artist ".
