After upgrading to Windows 11, I have noticed that the icon displayed on the taskbar is tiny. I know this is not a functionality problem with MusicBee, I am just wondering if any one has figured out how to fix it.

NOTE: I have already tried changing the icon to a larger one of my own by right-clicking and going to Properties.

I am guessing you have a high dpi display but even so, MB embeds icons up to 128x128px which should be more than enough for the taskbar.
I suggest asking on a windows 11 forum. If you do find out why then let me know so i can do something (assuming its not just a windows bug)

I have an icon I use for testing to see at what size an icon shows up in different views/applications.
You could try this by changing the icon under Preferences > General > Select icon…
and then easily see what size is used for your taskbar.

I will try hiccup's suggestion below and check out a Windows 11 forum if I don't find a resolution there.

Thank you, hiccup! I will try this out.

That helped, hiccup! My display is 4K, and Windows 11 is using a 256px icon for the taskbar. I will take one of the icons out of the Customization forum and blow it up to 256px.

Thank you and Steven for your help.

Great.
To be honest I suspected that was the case exactly.

MusicBee's icon contains the sizes:
16, 32, 48, 64, 128

But the (minimum) recommendation for Windows icons is:
16, 32, 48, 64, 256

I am not sure why MB has 128. It is hardly ever mentioned to be used.

I am a bit surprised windows wouldnt have automatically upscaled the 128px icon but in any case I have added a 256px icon and removed the 128px one, but it is slightly different to the smaller ones. I dont have a 256px version of the existing ones

unzip and replace the existing musicbee application files

Are you sure adding 256 succeeded?
My icon tool now only shows it has 16, 32, 48, 64

Slightly off-topic, but perhaps useful to others that are interested in creating icons for Windows applications and stumble upon this thread.

This is a small table I once created as a cheat sheet to see what icon sizes would be sensible to use:

thanks for reporting that. I have tried a different approach of upscaling the 128px image

unzip and replace the existing musicbee application files

The patch works perfectly. Thank you!
