I have set my player to "Shuffle On". Then in Preferences > Now Playing > Shuffle settings, I select "different artist" all the way to the left. Prior to the 3.4.7805 release I got a really good shuffled mix of songs when I double-click on a saved playlist. With the most recent release, it now will play 2, 3, 4 songs from the same artist in a row. What happened in this recent release? Or what am I doing wrong? Thanks ya'll.

I'm pretty sure the code for shuffle hasn't been changed in quite some time. I can't account for why you're experiencing something different now.
Do you recall what version you were using previously?
Download the latest MusicBee v3.5 or 3.6 patch from here.

I want to say 3.3.7367. But, honestly, I can't remember.

Hmmm ... that's more than a year and a half old at this point. But again, I can't recall anything changing about the shuffle routine, but I suppose it's possible something has changed.

Sorry I can't be more help, but maybe someone else, or Steven, can offer some help.

It does look like a bug has slipped in depending on how you initiate playback.
This fixes the issue:
https://getmusicbee.com/patches/MusicBee34_Patched.zip
unzip and replace the existing musicbee application files
