Author Topic: MusicBee Wifi Sync Timeout Loop Error  (Read 1600 times)

I've attempted to sync my MusicBee library with the wifi sync feature several times. Every time I've attempted to do so I receive a java.net.SocketTimeoutException error and the sync fails. I've tried searching here and elsewhere online for ways to resolve the error, but nothing I've tried seems to work. Any idea on ways to fix this problem?

(Note: Below I've included a copy of the latest error report. Every time I receive the error report it points to a music file, but it's always a different file. From what I can tell none of the reported files are corrupt or have any obvious reason for being the issue.)

Have you done a wired sync yet? Or a wired preview? The first time you use the WiFi sync app you must perform at least a wired preview. You only need to do this once unless you're syncing to a new device. Once that's done you can use the WiFi sync.

I don't know if the error is due to not having performed a wired preview, but you should try it first and report back.
Download the latest MusicBee v3.5 or 3.6 patch from here.
Unzip into your MusicBee directory and overwrite existing files.

Yeah, I've done a wired sync before, but not a wired preview. The first attempt to wifi sync, it got through about 35,000 songs after syncing for most of the day before receiving the error. On repeat attempts, the sync runs for an hour (syncing songs already on the device), and then I receive the same error within an hour or two.

To be clear, one has to do a wired sync -or- a wired preview, before the WiFi sync will work. So you did one, which was what I was wondering about. I guess Steven will have to chime in on this when he sees it. Sorry I couldn't help.
