Option to never reduce/decrease play count when syncing with Last.fm?

So, I haven't been using MusicBee too much for a few years (have been mostly streaming on Google Play Music), but I'm trying to move back more to local playback/MusicBee. In doing so, I ran a play count sync with Last.fm to update a lot of tracks. I noticed that at least a few didn't match the playcounts, and after some head scratching, I realized it was because some of the scrobbles on Last.fm had a different album name set (or actually more often, had no album name set at all).

So I figured I'd simply increase the playcounts manually in MusicBee on the ones that I noticed were wrong. BUT upon running another sync, the play counts went back down again. Some testing shows this to be consistent behavior.

I could swear it used to be the case that when syncing, play counts would be increased to match Last.fm as applicable, but would never be decreased. I guess that's not the case anymore? (Or maybe I'm crazy and it never was.)

Is it possible to get an option to choose never to decrease the play count when syncing with Last.fm? I can totally understand why some might prefer it the way it currently is, hence why I suggest an option rather than a straight-up change, but judging by my Googling before I figured out the problem, I think I'm not the only one that would like the ability to manually increase the MusicBee play count in certain scenarios and know that it won't be undone by syncing to a LOWER play count from Last.fm. So if one enabled the option "Only increase play counts from Last.fm, never decrease" (or some other/better phrasing), then a MusicBee play count of 10 could be increased to 15 (or whatever) as a result of the Last.fm sync, but would never be decreased any lower than the existing count of 10 no matter the results of the Last.fm sync.

I'm imagining a checkbox in Preferences > Plugins > last.fm, along with the existing checkboxes to "Synchronise Play Count" and Synchronise Loved tracks". And if the option is enabled, it would apply both when synchronizing at startup and when synchronizing manually through Tools > Tagging Tools.

Otherwise I think my only options are to ignore the discrepancies (difficult for my particular personality type 😂), or to increase the play counts manually and try to remember to never sync with Last.fm again (not a real solution - even if I transition back to using MusicBee more, there will always be times I'll listen to other sources and I'll want to sync those plays from Last.fm).

There is no option ie. it takes last.fm as the source of truth when used for play count synching.
You could add this request to the wishlist if its important to you.

You could always add phony plays far enough in the past to not affect last played date to last.fm using something like last.fm scrubbler. 

Seems simpler for you to fix your own individual tagging error than it is to change MB to account for it.

I mean, it's not really MY tagging error, it's (mostly) Google Play Music, some Spotify, YouTube, etc., and they're from plays that are oftentimes years old. I had fallen into the streaming habit and I wasn't thinking about how the tagging might later affect syncs in MusicBee.  But yeah, going forward I'll try to pay more attention and catch issues sooner. Regardless, personally I'd still welcome an option to prioritize the MusicBee playcount if it's higher than Last.fm.
