hello everybody,
as said in the title, Musicbee V3.3 doesn't see my phone anymore !
it worked with previous version, but not now !
I tried with a USB key and musicbee saw it, but my phone stays invisible ...

what's wrong, doctor ?

my phone : Honor 5, android 6.0.1

weird ...
when we plug the phone on the PC, we can choose the way we want to share it : "photos", "files", or none ; (not sure about translation of the labels, I've got a french phone)
each time I plug it, I share it in "files" mode ;
I just try to share it in "photos" mode, and miracle ! musicbee sees it !!
weird, isn't it ?

is something changed in musicbee about phone detection ?

well, my phone is now seen by musicbee, but only the "DCIM" directory is available !
so, back to departure : impossible to synchronise MB and my phone ....

Is it an MB issue or Windows Explorer doesn't see it either?

I can see the content of the phone with windows 's explorer, so I think it's a MB issue (and it was ok before V3.3)

Show left sidebar and press F5 to see if that changes. Also try restarting MB.

allready done ...
when I press "Photos" button on my phone, it immediatly appears on the left panel (but with only the DCIM directory) ;
and when I press "Files" button, it disappears at once ... (but stays visible on windows, with all directories) ;
so I don't think it's just a display issue, but something as a "detection" problem ...

i find it hard to believe its anything to do with v3.3, but to prove it could you go back to v3.2 to confirm?

I've just released some tests :
first of all, I have rebooted the computer : no change ;
then I've installed V3.2 : same issue ;
I've installed V3.1 : nothing at all : my phone is never seen, wheter "photos" or "files" ;
si I've re-installed v3.2 : allways nothing !
v3.3 : back to first issue : seen in "photos" mode, invisible in "files" mode ;

many tests later, I can say that :
v3.3 : phone seen in "photos" mode, invisible in "files" mode ;
from v3.3 to v3.2 : the issue remains ;
from v3.2 to v3.1 : worse : phone not seen at all ;
from v3.1 to v3.2 : allways not seen at all ;
from v3.2 to v3.3 : first issue re-appears

yet it had worked ...

I am actually at my office, MB in portable version ;
I'll soon go back home, and I'll try with my own computer ...

ok, I just tested the same thing at home, and the result remains exactly the same (than previously) !
so I tried with my wife's phone (Honor 6), and allways the same result ;

the result remains the same on two different computers, and two different phones (always musicbee v3.3, I didn't try another version here at home))

your claim is the issue is caused by v3.3
No one else has reported this in all the time that v3.3 has been developed and i am sceptical that any changes made affect connectivity.
So i need to you to confirm by using v3.2 if the issue still exists

I just have re-do the tests with v3.3, v3.3RC1, v3.2, v3.1 ;
I have rebooted several times the computer and the phone ...
and the issue remains the same ...
the last time I synchronized my phone was in november 2018, on a portable version at my office, a v3.2xxx but I don't know exactly with one.
I know, it seems to be incredible, mostly if I am the only one with this issue ....
the last test I can attempt is to install musicbee on my wife's computer, it will be the first installation of MB on it, maybe on a "virgin" PC ...
but I have to convice her to let me touch it ....

Why don't you ask your phone tech support or forum if there were any changes?

I've made the test on my wife's computer, allways the same problem with my phone... but not with my wife's or my son's phone !
so the issue comes from my own phone !
I have re-initialized it, delicate and long process, and now it's ok !!
something went wrong, something vicious (it worked with windows explorer, but not with MB), I don't know exactly when, don't know why, but now it works ;

really sorry for having annoying you with a local problem, I hope it can be helpfull for someone in the same case ...

I profit of this to tell thank you Steven, for this excellent soft that is MusicBee !! (why a Bee ??)

wish you all an excellent week-end
