Before I post this as a bug, perhaps somebody could check if this is possibly an error on my behalf?

- Create a shortcut key for:  Edit: Save/ Goto Next

Select an album, open tag editor.

Change the rating by clicking on a star, press the new shortcut key to perform save/next.
That will work, the next track will be selected.

But if instead of editing the rating, you edit for example the title or artist field, the shortcut key doesn't work.

anybody?

I don't know, I use that function a lot and it's always been fine for me. If I'm on the last track in a list, it still shows changed values highlighted, but they are in fact saved.

Thanks for trying it out.

Very strange, I am trying it on two different portable installs, and in both cases it won't work, except for when I change the rating.

Are you using actual physical shortcut keys on your keyboard for this?

A toolbar shortcut button will work for me, but physical keys don't.

I have Edit: Save / Goto Next mapped to CTRL+WINKEY. I do not use a toolbar button, nor do I use ratings. When I'm done editing a track, I hit the hotkey and it moves to the next. Obviously saving all changes.

Just as an experiment, try changing the hotkey. Maybe there's a conflict.

Thanks phred, that made me experiment a bit more.

After some more tries I found some combinations that will work as expected.
It is still a mystery to me why some will work only when I changed the rating but not for other fields.
(I did check for conflicts)

Thinking some more about it, a potential suspect might be my Logitech G13 and the Logitech software that controls it.
Obviously (and that's what it is designed for) it is mingling in keyboard and shortcut functions a lot.

Technology is a mysterious beast.

I'm glad you got it working. Now you just have to remap your muscle memory to the new hotkey.

Nope, that's what the g13 is for ;-)
