Since the introduction of skip count requires a change in protocol (additional data to be sent), the Wifi app by itself cannot help, and the MusicBee itself must be changed together.
It depends on whether MusicBee will change its specifications to accept skip count from the app.
I don't know if Poweramp manages it, so that's another problem.

Thanks for explanation. Sad to hear that bigger changes needed. It doesn’t seem that Poweramp has a skip count. GMMP has it in it’s stats.xml file.

Version 2.7.7 has been released to the open test environment, fixing a bug that prevented the “Synchronize Playlist” feature from working.
Google's review is not finished yet, so it may take until Monday at the latest for Google to finish their review and release it to the store.
In a week or so, I hope to release the official version, which Google calls the “production version”.

Jumping into Android Wi-fi synching. My app never connects to desktop. I have checked the Wi-fi sync box in Device Settings and even tried turning off Windows Firewall. Am I missing a step?

Code
2024-8-23: locate search=192.168.8., exclude=192.168.8.145

It looked like a log looking for a PC running MusicBee, but do you have a wired Sync before connecting via Wifi?

If it is normal, it should continue like this, but is there only one line in the log?

I figured it out - MusicBee must be running on an admin account. Will report back after testing.

I can't seem to get reverse sync of ratings from gonemad to Musicbee desktop to work - any tips? I have tried two different phones on two different versions of android.

I get changes in ratings on my desktop correctly detected and synchronised to mobile. However, when I make change ratings on the android app these are not even listed as detected when I click preview or sync in the wifi sync app. I have the ratings reverse sync tick box selected and have also tried manually clicking 'back up stats' in gonemad.

It sounds like other people have managed to get this to work so there must be something I need to do differently.

GoneMAD's “‘back up stats’” is performed by the wifi sync app during synchronization, so I don't think it will be affected by running it manually.
It just updates the stats.xml file.
In the player of the wifi sync app, if you have selected GoneMAD and rating, the rating of the changed files should be reverse sync, but there should be nothing special about it.

I have released the official version, not the test version. It is the same as the test version 2.7.7.
At the same time, I released 2.7.8 to the open test version.
This one has no new implementation in terms of functionality, just widening the file name display area on the Sync screen from 3 lines to 5 lines and revising the left and right margins.

Very strange - mine will not reverse sync ratings at all. I have tried on two different phones with different versions of android and get the same thing. The wifi sync app does not even seem to detect there is any change in the files after rating on the android device. Ratings from the pc to android work perfectly.

Do you have any suggestions for what I could try to get this working? I feel like I have tried everything at this point with no success...

I have a question for Poweramp users.
I have just released the official version and it has been reviewed and it is not possible to reverse sync the ratings.
It works as I have tested it briefly, but as I am usually a GMMP user myself, I can't deny that I have not done it enough times.
Are there any Poweramp users out there who are seeing problems with reverse sync of evaluations, or think there is a bug?

Can‘t confirm. Syncs ratings and playcounts. But what I got, are timeouts while syncing. Syncing of Songs is mostly ok, but especially syncing of playlists files results in nearly endless loops with empty playlists. While sync app writes succesfull sync, MB writes failure sync.

Version 2.7.9 was released for open testing.
I do not know if this is a perfect timeout measure for me, but I have increased the timeout value to the maximum value at the source level.

Hi  kimt1688, I still use version 2.4.1 since it works perfectly for me. I've tested every version since, but they all would fail in various ways, most recently and commonly by getting stuck saving the playlists from MusicBee to my phone. However, I can sync successfully every time in the later versions if I uncheck the "as configured in MusicBee" option.

I just decided to test a sync after changing the playlist format in MusicBee from M3U to M3U8 and WPL. Version 2.4.1 names the file "playlist.m3u8" or "playlist.wpl" as expected, but version 2.7.9 will always add a .m3u suffix to the file, so the files will be named "playlist.wpl.m3u" for example. Also, the syncing screen will show the correct name when this happens (ex. "playlist.wpl").

Please visit the following link to see what I mean: https://imgur.com/a/Q708XLV.

I wonder if whatever is causing this behavior is what is causing the playlists transfer to get stuck indefinitely.

To get through Google's review process, I had to use MediaStore to copy files.
With MediaStore, only music files can be copied under the Music folder.
The exception to this is the mechanism for handling playlists, which would put the m3u extension on all files with extensions other than m3u.
This is obviously a bug, but Google has already deprecated this mechanism and no future updates are expected.
So the only way to get around this situation is to be patient and use the m3u format playlist.

Version 2.7.10 was released for open testing.
Again, this time it is a timeout countermeasure.
It now does not go to sleep on the screen during Sync, i.e., the screen remains displayed.
I implemented this as a timeout countermeasure as my user, where I had to touch the screen to keep the screen from disappearing.

I will test tomorrow. Hope it fix my timeout problem. Don‘t know, if it‘s the app, my Android, connection or Musicbee itself. Thanks so far.

MusicBee continues to show a timeout in the error log. The music files seem to work mostly without issues. The playlists seem to be causing the problems. Unfortunately, I don’t know where the problem originates. Whether it’s the app, my phone, the SD card, or MusicBee itself.
