Any time I click on the playlist or add a song to it, an error occurs and the Playlists tab turns into the Music tab.

Does this happen only when you try to use this specific playlist? If so, I'd say the playlist file is corrupt.
Download the latest MusicBee v3.5 or 3.6 patch from here.
Unzip into your MusicBee directory and overwrite existing files.

Yes, it only occurs with this specific playlist.  Do you know if there's a way to repair it?

If it's an Auto-Playlist just make note of the criteria, delete it and start over. If it's a static playlist, you'd have to manually create it.

You might take a look at the file with a text editor to see if you can find something funky in the text.
