Compatibility between MusicBee and other library software (tagging related)

Does anyone have experience with opening up other programs that share the same music library as your MusicBee? What I mean is, are my files safe to open in Sony MediaGo or iTunes without the tags getting changed/all screwed up? Years ago I made the switch from iTunes/iPod to MediaGo/Sony Walkman and half my library got all messed up with the tags changed, artwork missing, dozens of albums listed in one huge "Unknown" album (what a mess that was.)

I want MusicBee to be my main software, but I need to still use MediaGo in order to create playlists for my Walkman (MusicBee will do that, but it adds the files to my already existing ones on the device itself, resulting in duplicates.) My concern is that I will open it and load my library into it, and cause havoc, ruining all my painstaking tagging with MusicBee. Something tells me these programs are all unfriendly with each other.

Any tips, info, advice?

I don't see this as an option within Media Go. I do see it in Music Bee...
