Detect MTP Device hangs

Hi.

Trying to switch the "Detect MTP Device" option on but it just sits there and never completes.  Have to stop Musicbee from the Task Manager.  I am using 1.2.4027

i recall you have used MTP with MB in the past. I havent changed anything with this for maybe a year, so can you think of anything that has changed on your side - is this a new device perhaps? What i can do is give you a debug version to see how far its getting

Hi Steven.  You have a good memory!   I haven't used MTP for a few months now (new phone doesn't require it) and have since rebuilt the laptop Musicbee runs on so haven't activated it in this new install.  The problem occurs without an MTP phone plugged in so I suspect is not related to the phone.  Do i need to install some WMP stuff to make it work again?  Very happy to have a go with a debug version.

Is it OK if I do this error log as well? A similar situation happens to me as well, except MB just creates an error log instead of MB being hung up.

Afraid I can give you a log because I have to terminate Musicbee which appears to prevent the log from being updated. Sorry

it commits each logging entry immediately so terminating wont matter.
i changed the logging, so could you try this:
