When you edit the properties of a song from a single flac album it highlights the entire album. The play count shown in the properties windows will be the total plays from every song off the album, not individual tracks. I had to remove some albums to fix a bug so I wanted to manually add plays back but this is not possible.

I know in foobar2000 you can edit the play count of any track from a single flac album. Would this be possible in MusicBee? Or maybe there is a settings file with all the play counts? In music explorer view it shows the top tracks, so it must be storing that information somewhere.

Just did some tests. You can export individual counts using Tags (2)> clipboard feature to a text file.
But re-importing to the database is not possible. Additional Tagging Tools is of no help as it's not supported (for normal files it works).

Not just play counts but lots of things are not possible for individual tracks in a file with cuesheet like lyrics or artwork. You will have to create a lot of wishlist posts to address them. That's why I am always splitting to individual tracks whenever importing such files.

Yes single flac file + cue is what I mean.

There must be some settings file that is storing the top tracks, no?

Top tracks? You mean in music explorer node? I don't know about that but MB's database file saves all play counts.

I don't know any way to edit the file directly. Additional Tagging Tools can write some tags to it if API supports.
Another way is export iTunes xml file, edit values, and re-create a library based on that by importing it. But I didn't try it.

actually there is no problem to split FLAC file (which is lossless) to individual tracks in mb.

I know I could convert them using format converter. I just prefer having albums a single file with a .cue. Keeps things nice and tidy.

Maybe Steven can chime in if it's possible to edit play count through a settings file.

Just wanted to add I tried editing the play count of a track from the history view. It looked like it was going to work, but once I changed the value and hit apply it broke my album making it a single track. I had to remove it from the library and back again.
