Currently I have my main view set up to navigate by album art, with a drop-down menu showing up when I click once on an album, like this. When navigating, I frequently enter and exit album drop-down menus quickly when looking for a track. Oftentimes, this causes MusicBee to think I am double-clicking on an album, changing the queue or whatever I'm listening to. I would really like to disable this action, so that double-clicking only works on tracks. That way, I can play the whole album/artist by either pressing the play button next to the name or right-clicking. Is there a way to currently do this on MusicBee? Alternatively, is there a way to adjust the sensitivity of the double-clicking?

Not an answer to your question, but I also never have felt completely comfortable with the current implementation of the album art controls and actions.

For me a nice solution would be to have something like this available:

This would eliminate the need for any double-clicking, and the available actions would only need to show at mouse hover-over.

I too would welcome any changes as I'm not comfortable with it either. My only problem being, double click on the album art, along with playing the album also opens the extended panel, which in turn requires one more click to close it.

Go to Window's mouse settings and adjust double-click speed. To prevent it from easily playing album, you need to move the slider in the speed setting to the right, make it super fast.

The reason double click opens the expanded panel immediately is there is no way of knowing what the user's intention was without waiting 300-400 ms to determine if the action is infact a double click and not a single click ie. it substantially slows down a single click action which i believe most people usually do.
The "click to play" button, when enabled in the artwork settings allows you to play an album without the expanded panel opening
