I have cleared the Recently Added playlist but the songs do not stay removed.

The playlist is now up to almost 3000 songs so its becoming cumbersome to manage/edit/review new files

Using Windows 10 on PC

Troubleshooting steps so far:

- Confirmed Musicbee is up to date with latest version
- Cleared the playlist, closed app and restarted
- Cleared the playlist, added new songs, closed app and restarted

Any suggestions to resolve this?

Up to date? What's the version number you're using?
Cleared the playlist? What exactly do you mean by this? Did you simply remove the tracks from the playlist? Or did you change the parameters of the auto-playlist. If you removed the tracks and didn't change the parameters, the tracks will reappear.
Download the latest MusicBee v3.5 or 3.6 patch from here.
Unzip into your MusicBee directory and overwrite existing files.

You can limit that playlist to any number of/date of files you want;  open the left sidebar, right click on the "Recently Added" playlist on top of the "Playlists" section, and choose "Edit Auto-Playlist."  That opens a template that allows you to limit by date, quantity, etc etc.

It's an auto-playlist.  It always gets repopulated.

If you don't want it, delete it or, as sveakul said, edit it to make it useful to you.

Personally, I just deleted it and view my library sorted by Date Added when I want to see recently added items.
