I put a thumb drive back in my system that had previously been loaded with several gigs worth of MP3s by MusicBee. For some reason it didn't remember it, so I had to go into device settings and tell it again which playlists to sync. For the most part it's identical to what it was before, I just added a new playlist. But for some reason it's randomly going through all the music and appears to be re-encoding a whole bunch of files, which could take hours to do. This is stuff that was previously re-encoded by MusicBee when it put it on the thumb drive in the first place. A lot of my music is in flac, and I have it convert to mp3s at high quality on the thumb drive. Once it's there, shouldn't it just leave it alone for future syncs? The file sizes don't appear to be changing, but still, this seemingly random checking of files as it jumps around from album to album is taking a lot of time. There are nearly 2,000 files on the drive, and I have no idea where in the process it is and all I wanted to do was add a few dozen files.
