I had a custom tag (4) with musicians names separated by a ";".
It was stored in the MBdatabase.
I changed it to store in the file in the IPL.
I again changed it to store in the MBdb.
The names are in the custom tag (4) but in the editor only the first name shows.
All the names are there because i can see them in the right sidebar under the trackinformation as the custom4 tag.

In the taginspector in the IPL they are separated the first time with ":" and further with ";" .

Can i fix this? The first ":" in the list.

(it's confusing the word "tag" is used for the file as well as for the database?)

As i am looking to fix the tags.
musicians=custom4 stored in the database.
I filled in names separated by a ";".
Some of the ";" are replaced with ":".
The tageditor shows only one name.
So i can not edit.
But i can see all names in the trach information in the right sidebar.
If i change the name in the tageditor, all names are written over.
So they are there but i can't get to them.
(Makes me think of a great joke in the introduction by John Peel for the concert by Robert Wyatt and friends)
In the database i see the names without a separtor and with an ",".
What made it go wrong. Hours work. :(

in the mdl names are separated using "( )".
I guess this translated in ":" and ";" when storing tags in the files.
Going back got lost of a lot of the "( )". So the names are no longer separated.
In the taginspector i still see the names separated by ":" and then ";" and so on.
Can i do something to get the tags from the files in to the database translating the ":" and ";"?

Going through the forum i read something about the strage behaviour.
And yes my 'artist' got messed up to.
In the artist splitter:
The second 'artist'  is the first musician. The second musician became the intsrument of the first musician.  ::)

If you haven't sort it out, post screenshots of tag inspector and tag editor of some problem tracks.

History:
In my custumtag i had musicians separated by ";".
I choose to save this tag to the 'involvedpeople' tag in the mp3 file.
Then the problems in the previuos posts occured.

In MP3tag i saw that i had name:name;name:name.
I tried to replace the ':' with ';'.
I got name:;name:;name:;.

I learned involved people is the name and the type of involvement.
I did not find this but i guess it is name:involvement;name:involvement and so on.

So i replaced all ':' tesulting in ':;' meaning no type of involvement.

Reinstalled MB.
New library.
custom one sored in the file in involved people.

Problem
MB shows name:name;name:name
While i hoped for name:;name:;name:; :(

Thx for the links.

I now use the artist splitter.
I enheritted a small problem however.
The artists appear between brackets when i display them in the trach information.
The old ones not the new ones when i used the artist splitter.

I see: in the IPL it is "drums : Lander Gyselinck" and not "Lander Gyselinck : drums".

As I said:
