Author Topic: Single FLAC album doesn't show on "recently played"  (Read 4157 times)

I just noticed that all of my FLAC albums that are a single file + CUE do not show in MusicBee's "recently played" playlist.  Is MusicBee not able to tell which track has been played because it's a single file?  The individual tracks show the playcount when I search the album, but when right-clicking it selects the whole album and shows play count 0 - last played unknown under properties.

maybe the files are read-only. Idk if that actually affects things, but just check it. And don't forget to replace the files to another directory and than re-move it again.

No they are not read-only.  I don't think MusicBee allows you to edit tags if they are read-only.

Maybe my only option is to split the tracks separately.  That would be annoying though because then I would have the album twice in my library unless I moved the single FLAC album out of my music folder.

foobar2000 will show the recently played, the last played date in settings, and play count in settings of a single FLAC album.  In foobar2000 you just drop the cuesheet into the music library to split the album.  It then shows all the tracks individually with their own settings.

There's no property tab when selecting an entire properly splitted album.  This tab is presented for individually selected tracks, so maybe that's why you are not seeing this data when selecting an entire album represented by a cuesheet (no summing of track playcounts for an entire album).  Are individual tracks not showing up on "Recently Played"?

If I right click a single track, anyone, it will highlight them all and show the properties window, as well as the tags.  At the top it says album file with cuesheet.

Ah, I see.

In any case, on MB 3.0.6101, I can see a track from a single flac (cuesheet) in my recently played autoplaylist.

I am using MusicBee 2.5.  Do you think that is the problem?

That probably is a problem considering that development for 2.5 has long since ceased.  Then again, I cannot confirm that this is broken in 2.5 since I no longer run that version.  But I can confirm that your issue appears to be fixed in version 3.0.6101.

I just updated to version 3 and it now shows the separate tracks in "Recently Played" even though it's a Single FLAC album.  Glad to see this works now!

However when I select an individual track it still highlights them all and I cannot see the individual track properties.  foobar2000 can see individual track play counts and properties so I don't see why MusicBee can't do this.

Hi Steven, thanks for responding.  Yes I can see them in the main panel, but they do not show in the properties window.  When you select a single track to view it's properties, it selects the entire album.  If foobar2000 can do this with a single FLAC album I don't see why MusicBee can't.  I assume it wasn't implemented because it's not a big deal.
