Overhaul the Preferences/Settings Menu [Ideas/Mock-ups]

The way I see it, the Settings menu is a little too crowded and unintuitive. I think it needs an overhaul, and should be more user friendly.

Any ideas for the same are welcome. Maybe some mock-up's or the images of settings menu of other apps' can be used as reference.

Just search should be enought, like Eclipse or Directory Opus preferences. At least I have not seen anything better.
