It also happens when I play a song, then stop it, and after a few seconds start that same song again.
this would still happen as the point of the original change was to release the ASIO device so other applications can access it
i am going to make a further tweak that might address the sound glitch in this scenario (skip track should already be addressed)

@hiccup or anyone else using asio who was gettng the sound glitches, please try this version:

I tried that one (5962), but  I think the snippet only got slightly shorter, but it's still there.

well skipping should now be implemented how it was before the change ie. the device is no longer released, so it doesn't make sense to me how that could be unless it was happening before.
For stopping then restarting, I was hoping the new change would help but sounds like it didn't help
