So MB has this very nice and robust sub grouping feature where albums' tracks can be displayed in groups. Grouping multi-CD albums into tracks? Grouping classical CDs' tracks into different music pieces? group bonus tracks separately from the "original" release? You can do all that.
Check out this thread and learn how you can make the most of this feature and you'll see it potential.

But for the best of my knowledge, it ends there - it's just a very nice display feature. You can't double-click the group header or something similar to play just that group of tracks.

Steven, please add this feature.

Edit: Steven implemented this feature in version 3.0.5860

You can do exactly that... Clicking on the header selects the group, double clicking results in the Play Now action.
Bold words in my posts are links unless expressly stated otherwise.

Clicking on the header does nothing in both the Artists view and the Album Covers view

Yes, it does work. I'm using the Artists view where, correct me if I'm wrong, it doesn't work. I checked the Album Covers view and it doesn't seem to work there either.

So I guess my request is that you make it work, consistently, across all views?

when you refer to "header", to me that means the header on the Album and Tracks layout. As i said its implemented and works fine
For the artwork only layouts like "Artists" or "Albums" you can double click on the picture or the text below the picture. How MB behaves depends on settings for the artwork layout ie. it drills down to that artist/album or it plays that artist/album.
If you are refering to the expanded panel ie. click on an album to see all tracks, then yes you are right - double click doesnt do anything

There are so many UI elements it's not that easy to use words to refer to them. I'm sorry for the confusion, I should've posted am image in the first post.
